Program Description:
Are you a young graduate passionate about international relations and sustainable development? Do you want to gain hands-on experience in a diplomatic mission and learn how the EU represents its interests and values in Nigeria?
We are offering a 6-month funded traineeship within the Green and Digital Economy Section of the EU Delegation in Nigeria, starting by the end of May 2025. This section manages projects and programs in agriculture, climate, renewable energy, energy efficiency, circular economy, innovation, digitalization, youth employment, MSMEs, and investment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and analysis on sustainable economic development issues in Nigeria.
- Review trends, programs, and activities undertaken by other development partners.
- Support the follow-up and monitoring of project implementation.
- Monitor media for developments in the public and private sectors relevant to the EU’s work.
- Contribute to the programming, identification, and appraisal of projects in collaboration with beneficiary institutions.
- Draft reports on events, meetings, and key developments.
Qualifications:
- Must be a citizen of Nigeria.
- Young graduates with at least a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
- Maximum of one year of professional experience.
- No prior experience of more than six weeks in EU institutions.
- Strong interest in international relations, sustainable development, and the EU’s work.
- Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
