Your Mission:
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Tendering Manager – Services to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will be responsible for contract, bid, and proposal management within the services team. You will analyze complex RFQs (Request for Quotation), lead tender preparation, consolidate technical and financial data, and prepare costings in alignment with company processes and tools. Your role will involve developing presales strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring competitive and profitable proposals.

Your Role:

  • Tender Preparation & Management:
    • Analyze customer RFQs and prepare budgetary offers using standard processes and tools.
    • Develop and implement bid execution strategies, including documentation compilation, tender planning, and risk assessment.
    • Define competitive technical and commercial offers, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and company capabilities.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with the Operations Team to ensure the proposed scope of supply is deliverable and cost-effective.
    • Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Business Management, and Technical/Engineering teams to structure proposals and contracts.
    • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, addressing roadblocks and ensuring timely completion of offers.
  • Customer Engagement & Strategy:
    • Influence customer RFQs and support the Opportunity Pursuit Leader during negotiations and deal closures.
    • Enhance and consolidate quotes to meet target pricing while avoiding margin slippage.
    • Handover finalized bids to the Execution Team and ensure smooth project transitions.
  • Performance & Risk Management:
    • Conduct risk analysis and define strategies for variation orders and claim management.
    • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as tendering hit rate, order intake, and customer satisfaction.

Main Interactions:

  • Internal: Sales Manager, Opportunity Leader, Intra-Group Suppliers, Project Managers, Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Quality.
  • External: Customers and Outside Group Suppliers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in infrastructure projects within sales and tendering teams in multinational companies.
  • At least 3 years of technical experience in brownfield projects, including Secure Power Systems, Cooling Systems, Electrical and Mechanical Installations, Logistics, and Civil Works.
  • Strong influencing, decision-making, and escalation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Project.
  • Knowledge of offer and application processes, project risk assessment, and financial literacy.
  • Previous customer-facing roles and strong leadership skills, including team mentoring and development.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments and across different time zones.
