Miva Open University is an education company building a new kind of university targeted at the African region. Miva is a Pan-African Distance e-Learning University that is built on a couple of beliefs: Firstly, we believe that the traditional brick-and-mortar approach to tertiary education is no longer a viable option for serving learners on the African continent.
This approach will not provide the capacity and efficacy for the people of the region. Job Title: Social Media Manager
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Overall Function
- As a Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our social media strategy, creating engaging content, and managing our online presence across various social media platforms.
- You will play a key role in growing our brand awareness, driving traffic to our website, and fostering engagement with our target audience.
- The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of social media trends, excellent communication skills, and a creative mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and help to create engaging marketing content to socialize and use for social media purposes (e.g. customer videos briefs, customer case studies, blog posts, posts from analysts and customers.
- Create and publish compelling content across various social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Research and administer social media tools on a daily basis in support of clients’ social media strategy
- Monitor and evaluate social media results on a daily basis in coordination with client goals and benchmarks
- Communication to team and management on project development, timelines, and results
- Work closely with the other team members to meet client goals
- Keep pace with social media and internet marketing industry trends and developments.
- Build and nurture social media platform-specific communities and audiences
- Support SEO strategies by understanding keyword priorities and how they integrate into content marketing plans
- Assist in link building campaigns in coordination with client SEO goals.
- Provide analysis and recommendations as the program evolves and can be reviewed
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Social Media Manager or similar role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple social media accounts simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of SEO and content marketing principles is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, their features, and best practices.
- Proficiency in using social media management and analytics tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative thinking and the ability to develop engaging and innovative content.
Remuneration
- Salary: N500,000 – N600,000 Net Monthly
