We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Relationship Manager – Commercial Banking to join our team in Gombe. This role is critical in managing client relationships, driving deposit mobilization, and ensuring the growth of quality assets to support the bank’s commercial banking objectives.
Job Summary:
The Relationship Manager – Commercial Banking will be responsible for managing and deepening relationships with existing and prospective customers, booking quality assets, and ensuring effective portfolio monitoring. This role requires strong credit and marketing skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to drive business growth in the commercial banking sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients by providing professional and specialized financial solutions.
- Manage and deepen relationships with existing and prospective customers to drive business growth.
- Win new accounts and resuscitate dormant relationships.
- Deposit Mobilization & Trade Transactions:
- Champion the drive for deposit mobilization and trade transactions to meet business targets.
- Market the bank’s products to meet customer needs and initiate the development of new products as required.
- Credit Management:
- Book quality assets and ensure effective portfolio monitoring for early detection of defaults.
- Assist in structuring credits in line with business potentials and provide support in preparing Transaction Memos.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Business Manager to execute the team’s functions and activities.
- Provide the best customer service available in the industry to enhance customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: First degree or its equivalent in any discipline, preferably business-related. Higher degrees and relevant professional certifications are an added advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant banking experience in marketing and credit.
- Knowledge:
- Good understanding of the business environment, credit/risk management, and banking policies.
- Strong knowledge of customer service and strategic business planning.
- Skills:
- Excellent negotiation, networking, and relationship management skills.
- Strong credit and marketing skills with the ability to structure deals effectively.
- Proficiency in IT and computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills (written and oral) and analytical reasoning.
