We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Procurement Officer

Locations: Benin, Edo and Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking organized, diligent, and responsible individuals to join our growing team. 
  • Who will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing parts, materials, and services necessary for Customer’s truck maintenance and operations.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Control & Budget Management:

  • Optimize procurement costs by negotiating bulk discounts, payment terms, and rebates.
  • Monitor budget spending on parts and materials to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Purchasing & Inventory Coordination:

  • Place purchase orders for raw materials, spare parts, and equipment used in vehicle manufacturing or servicing.
  • Work with the inventory team to maintain optimal stock levels and avoid shortages.
  • Ensure just-in-time (JIT) delivery of components to minimize warehouse storage costs

Risk Management & Sustainability:

  • Identify risks in the supply chain (e.g., shortages, price fluctuations, geopolitical issues) and develop contingency plans.
  • Source sustainable and eco-friendly materials in line with environmental regulations.
  • Monitor ethical sourcing practices, including labour conditions at supplier facilities

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier evaluations.
  • Generate reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier reliability.
  • Present insights and recommendations to management for continuous improvement.

Supplier Sourcing & Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers of automotive components (e.g., engines, tires, electrical parts, and raw materials).
  • Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency and quality assurance

Procurement Planning & Strategy:

  • Develop procurement strategies that align with production schedules and company objectives.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and logistics teams to forecast material needs.
  • Analyze market trends to ensure the company sources high-quality materials at competitive prices

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

  • Ensure all procured parts meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with the quality control team to inspect and test materials upon delivery.
  • Address supplier quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Logistics & Supply Chain Management:

  • Manage inbound shipments and coordinate with freight and logistics providers for timely delivery.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Logistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • Entry-Level Roles: 1 – 2 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, logistics, or purchasing roles.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Procurement & Sourcing Knowledge: Understanding of purchasing strategies, supplier management, and cost reduction techniques.
  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to secure favourable terms, contracts, and pricing from suppliers.
  • Analytical & Decision-Making Skills: Capability to evaluate suppliers, assess risks, and make data-driven procurement decisions.
  • ERP & Procurement Software Proficiency: Micro Soft Office
  • Communication & Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills for working with suppliers and internal teams
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in contracts, purchase orders, and inventory records.
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of budgets, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of Procurement Regulations & Compliance: Awareness of international and local procurement laws and standards.
