Job Summary:
The Place is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Officer to join our team in Abuja. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing raw materials at the best prices and terms while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and government regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a passion for optimizing procurement processes to support our business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Monitor business demand and create replenishment plans to ensure optimal inventory levels.
- Supplier Negotiation: Regularly evaluate and negotiate prices, specifications, and terms with suppliers to secure favorable deals.
- Market Analysis: Track market trends and external factors (e.g., weather) affecting product prices, particularly for strategic raw materials.
- Cost Optimization: Update product cost components regularly to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
- Purchase Order Management: Issue purchase orders in compliance with SOPs to ensure timely delivery and avoid disruptions.
- Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers, transporters, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery and customs processes.
- Documentation: Process shipping documents and ensure timely arrival of goods for operational use.
- Additional Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned by management to support procurement and supply chain operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: HND/B.Sc in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A minimum of Second Class Upper Division or Upper Credit is required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Language: Fluency in English and Hausa.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in procurement processes, negotiation techniques, and vendor management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
