Job Summary:
Yinson is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement & Logistics Officer to join our team in Port Harcourt, Rivers. In this role, you will provide essential procurement and logistics support to the Purchasing Manager, ensuring compliance with company procedures and management systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement within the oil and gas or engineering sector, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, international environment.
Core Responsibilities:
- Receive and file requisitions from units, ensuring timely approval by Superintendents/Operations Managers.
- Place orders with suppliers and follow up until delivery is completed.
- Monitor contractors/suppliers and logistics agents for landed goods, tracking the status of services and repairs.
- Assist in monitoring logistics agents’ import/export activities and local logistics for efficiency.
- Collate operations statistics for Nigerian Content reporting and related documentation.
- Advise the Purchasing Manager on procurement and logistics matters requiring attention.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s HSSEQ system in all duties.
- Enter orders into the purchasing system and keep it updated until completion.
- Record confirmation of goods received and reconcile invoices against purchase orders.
- Profile new suppliers for approval and registration in the Approved Supplier List.
- Monitor contractors/suppliers’ goods handling practices.
HSE Responsibilities:
- Maintain a high degree of safety awareness and lead by example.
- Observe and report unsafe activities, conditions, or situations.
- Implement the ‘Stop Work’ policy if unsafe practices are observed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing, Logistics, or a related field. Additional professional qualifications are an advantage.
- Knowledge of IFS, SAP, or related databases.
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience in procurement within an international Oil & Gas or Engineering company.
- Fluency in English.
