We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team in Nigeria. This role is pivotal in driving the maintenance strategy of our plant, ensuring operational efficiency, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.


Job Summary:
The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the maintenance strategy of the plant at optimal cost. This role involves driving innovation, improving line and asset performance, and managing resources to ensure uncompromised safety, availability, and quality while minimizing environmental impact.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintenance Strategy Execution:
    • Establish, monitor, and reinforce control over the maintenance strategy in alignment with the country’s overall strategy.
    • Organize and schedule annual overhauls of production lines and facilities.
  2. Operational Efficiency:
    • Improve efficiencies by increasing preventive maintenance and minimizing breakdowns.
    • Reduce mean time between failures and ensure optimal performance of plant assets.
  3. Budgeting & Cost Management:
    • Prepare and control the annual plant maintenance budget, ensuring sufficient funds for routines and strategic initiatives.
    • Effectively apply business performance review tools (COBRA, EATB) to monitor and improve cost efficiency.
  4. Team Development:
    • Build the capabilities of the maintenance team through training and development programs.
    • Select, assess, and develop first-line managers to ensure high performance.
  5. Quality & Safety:
    • Maintain effective systems to ensure product and package quality.
    • Disseminate and enforce safety, health, and environmental policies.
  6. Reporting & Innovation:
    • Prepare, present, and interpret Maintenance Key Business Indicators (KBIs), making recommendations to increase productivity and efficiency.
    • Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience: 5–10 years of experience in Production Management or Maintenance within the Food or Beverage industry.
  • Skills:
    • Proven experience in budgeting, project execution, and annual maintenance planning.
    • Strong ability to set standards for management performance and build relationships to improve results.
    • Open-minded, innovative, and willing to experiment with new approaches.
    • Ability to lead and manage change effectively.
  • Leadership:
    • Ability to translate functional strategy into actionable plans and lead cross-functional teams.
    • Strong focus on sustainability, quality, and safety.
