Job Brief
- The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer is responsible for ensuring that the workplace adheres to safety regulations and procedures to protect the health and well-being of employees and visitors.
- The HSE Officer will conduct regular inspections, provide training, and implement safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Ensure that equipment is installed correctly and safely.
- Conduct safety inductions for new employees and enforce compliance with PPE and safety boot standards.
- Keep up to date with current health and safety legislation and ensure compliance within the workplace.
- Undertake risk assessments and identify potential hazards.
- Develop and implement measures to reduce risks in accordance with client safety procedures.
- Conduct safety exercises, musters, and drills.
- Provide health and safety training courses for employees and managers.
- Make presentations to groups of employees and managers on health and safety topics.
- Write internal health and safety policies and strategies.
- Develop and implement safe operational procedures for all work processes.
- Safely handle hazardous substances and ensure proper storage and disposal.
- Keep up to date with developments within the profession and integrate new knowledge into practice.
- Ensure all emergency safety procedures are in place and understood by all employees.
- Monitor staff movement in and out of the site clinic and oversee drugs provision and consumption.
- Compile statistics and make recommendations following accidents or incidents.
- Liaise with relevant authorities to ensure compliance and report on safety standards.
- Organize and attend health and safety meetings.
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks assigned by management.
