Diesel Mechanic at an Oil and Gas Firm

The Oiltest Group is a group of companies based in Nigeria providing oilfield services to oil producing companies among other services. The Group currently has only one operational office located in Port Harcourt while it has a liaison office in Lagos. Its corporate Headquarters is located at Plot 312 Danjuma Drive, Trans Amadi Industrial Layout, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The parent company – Oiltest, as a fully indigenous organization commenced operations in 1992.

The company started with activities including fluid sampling, production testing, electronic data acquisition, slickline services, and PVT laboratory services. By 1999, Oiltest had expanded its range of services to include well analysis services, coiled tubing & nitrogen services. In 2005, it added filtration services. Also by entering into strategic alliances, Oiltest is also able to provide Permanent downhole gauges services, completion tools & accessories.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

Key Tasks

  • Diagnose, repair and overhaul diesel engines for various vehicles like trucks, crane, forklifts, buses etc.
  • Perform routine services on such vehicles and replace certain parts when need arises.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on all diesel vehicles when necessary to keep vehicles in good shape at all times.
  • Maintain and service equipment in the field during field operations.
  • Check equipment and machines when they return from the field to ascertain if there is need for repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintain other equipment like compressors, Generators, Pressure washers etc.
  • Assist in part identification and correctness during repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure all diesel equipment and vehicles are functional and taken care of .
  • Maintain appropriate service and repair records of all vehicles and equipment worked on.
  • Responsible for verifying the correctness of all repairs and services done by 3rd parties and external vendors on diesel equipment and vehicles.

Requirements

  • Diagnostic skills manually and with machine.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a workshop or company in the same capacity.
  • Minimum of SSCE certificate or Trade Test Certificate.
  • Possession of applicable Diesel Mechanic Training certificates will also be an added advantage.
