Job Summary:
Maersk is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join our team in Lagos. In this role, you will be responsible for providing end-to-end corporate tax advisory and planning services, ensuring optimal business structures, and managing tax risks in alignment with Maersk’s values and Tax Principles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax advisory, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct tax advisory and planning support for regional projects, asset transactions, and high-value commercial contracts.
- Collaborate with other functions to support legal and operational restructuring projects.
- Develop and implement business-specific operational models within the region.
- Lead or support global tax initiatives and analyses.
- Manage M&A transactions and oversee the integration of newly acquired companies.
- Advise on high-value cross-border investments into the region.
- Handle complex tax litigation and interactions with tax authorities.
- Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of practical experience in a tax function within an international company, law firm, or audit firm.
- Strong understanding of corporate tax advisory, planning, and risk management.
- Excellent critical analysis, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to make business decisions.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in French is an added advantage.
- Experience in project management and restructuring is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
