Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Contract & Procurement Manager to join our team in Port Harcourt. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing supply chain operations, negotiating with suppliers, and implementing strategies to optimize procurement processes while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supply Chain Management:
- Review and update supply chain practices to align with company policies, standards, laws, and regulations.
- Negotiate terms and prices with suppliers and freight companies, ensuring cost-effective practices.
- Monitor and assess supplier performance to maintain high-quality standards.
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement long-term and short-term strategies to improve productivity, reduce working capital, and minimize forecasting errors.
- Analyze supply chain data and create alternative plans to address potential risks and challenges.
- Identify and mitigate risks by forecasting line items using statistical data from Business Development (BD), Operations, Project Engineering and Design (PED), and Finance.
- Procurement & Contract Management:
- Oversee tender preparation, administration, negotiation, and evaluation processes.
- Ensure compliance with procurement and contract legislation and supply chain requirements.
- Manage vendor relationships and global logistics to optimize procurement outcomes.
- Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor procurement teams to achieve organizational goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Legal, Commercial, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within procurement in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong commercial awareness and advanced analytical skills in contractual costs and risk allocation.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, tender management, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Proven experience in managing vendor relationships and global logistics.
- Proficiency in designing, implementing, and managing inventory control systems.
- Solid understanding of strategic, technical, legal, financial, and commercial issues in the oil and gas sector.
