Job Description

Our client is a foremost non-governmental organization that is committed to the development of leadership capabilities and national development in Africa.
The Company is looking to hire an experienced and passionate Community Manager to managing its online Professional membership network across multiple platforms. The key responsibility will be to build and engaging professional membership community for the organization online.
This will entail active participation in discussions across the different platforms and you will be responsible for moderating discussions and encouraging engagement in the professional network through sharing of key news and regular updates of the organization initiatives and programs in different countries in Africa.
The role will work in collaboration with the social media and campaign manager to ensure the community is active and informed at all time.
Key Responsibilities:
§ Build and manage a thriving community of professional members in the NLO network, particularly under the society of registered members
§ Develop and implement strategies to foster and enhance active engagement and collaboration among members to advance the mission.
§ Manage relationships with professional members ensuring maximum value creation.
§ Organize community events, initiatives and discussions to promote engagement.
§ Develop and implement membership growth strategies.
§ Handle member inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
§ Monitor and report on community engagement metrics.
§ Actively moderate, monitor, and manage our online professional membership network
§ Foster a positive and engaged community by responding to questions, encouraging discussions, and addressing issues or concerns.
§ Organize community events, webinars and discussions to maintain engagement.
§ Collaborate with the social media & campaign manager to ensure consistency in messaging and content style.
§ Monitor trends on different online and technology platforms to create meaningful interactions
§ Manage critical news and program announcements to the community
§ Ensure cross-platform consistency in community messaging and updates.
§ Conduct research on current and upcoming leadership development initiative or program to the community.
§ Work closely with the social media & campaign manager to implement social media strategies, including campaign coordination and tracking of social media metrics.
Requirements
Competency Required:
§ Experience managing online professional communities.
§ Active knowledge of the non-government organisation network and partnership
§ Capable of handling high-volume online activity, including content generation, engagement, and monitoring trends.
§ Great Research skills with ability to conduct leadership development research and synthesize findings into actionable insights.
§ Strong communication skills to clearly communicate with the community across various channels and understand the tone and language used within online professional communities.
Preferred Experience:
§ 5+ years of experience as a community manager or in a related role withing professional membership network.
§ Familiarity with several online community or engagement platforms
§ Previous experience engaging communities through organic growth strategies
§ Must Speaks fluent English and French (Swahili or Afrikaans or Portugues or Arabic will be considered as well)
