Job Summary:
DLE is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Buyer – Procurement to join our team in Lagos. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing procurement strategies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement project procurement plans and schedules, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
  • Conduct materials and equipment budgeting, cost analysis, and cost control activities.
  • Oversee procurement processes, including material inspection, handling, packing, transportation, and receipt.
  • Assist in the registration, audit, and assessment of vendors and subcontractors.
  • Review and evaluate commercial bids, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
  • Develop and maintain ethical relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners.
  • Provide periodic reporting on the status of purchase requests and procurement activities.
  • Conduct bid clarification meetings with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Manage importation processes, including documentation, clearing, and freight forwarding.
  • Prepare and update materials purchase schedules and procurement tracking sheets.
  • Raise purchase orders and letters of intent, ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of items shipped, received, or transferred.
  • Support the Contracts and Procurement Manager in maintaining a robust procurement and vendor management system.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • 4 to 6 years of relevant industry experience in procurement, preferably within the oil and gas sector.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, and supply chain operations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
  • Self-starter with a results-driven approach and a focus on delivering quality outcomes on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
  • Strong reporting and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
