Job Overview and Responsibilities
- The Assistant Manager – Vendor Maintenance Operations Nigeria provides leadership to an assigned area for contracted Vendor Line Maintenance Operations.
- This role ensures the highest levels of safety, operational performance, and regulatory compliance with a strong focus on product covering International contracted Line Maintenance Stations.
- Must have a strong focus on process improvement, cost control and building and maintaining strategic working relationships with local airport operations, contracted maintenance providers, and key internal stakeholders across the company.
- Oversight of departmental strategy and business plan through direct leadership of management team within all assigned regions
- Oversight for financial and budgetary compliance for all assigned Contracted Vendor Line Maintenance regions
- Ensure safety and security of aircraft and operations
- Maintain a high level of awareness of operational, financial, compliance, safety and human resource related performance objectives
- Provide leadership and guidance to an assigned regional organization that includes contracted vendors and interface with regional airport operations personnel to maximize productivity and foster effective working relationships through teamwork across all functions of the division that encapsulate
- Contracted Vendor Line Maintenance Operations
- Interface with regulatory authorities and local governments, including assigned regional locations, to ensure regulatory compliance of technical operations activities on a regional basis
- Maintain a high level of communication with Regional Contracted Vendor Line Maintenance providers and appropriate regional management levels & employee groups within the organization and across divisions as applicable
- Participate in daily operational meetings to communicate status of operations, highlighting significant events and provide direction to ensure divisional objectives are achieved
- Identify key issues needing to be addressed and assign projects where applicable
- Establish and execute regional performance goals and objectives aligning with divisional and company goals
Requirements
Required:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- FAA Certified A&P License OR EASA Qualifications
- Extensive Line Maintenance Operational Management experience with Widebody qualifications
- Line Maintenance Operations
- Contract management skills
- Proficient in all MS Office Applications
- Ability to analyze and present change initiatives to leadership
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to build relationships
- Ability to travel up to 30%
- Problem solving
- Ability to train contracted personnel on General Maintenance Manual policies and procedures (GMMV) and electronic logbook (Vendor Webtech)
- Ability to obtain an airport badge
- Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
- Ability to obtain a valid passport and US visa
- Must be legally authorized to work in Ghana or Nigeria for any employer without sponsorship
Preferred:
- AA or higher degree in Aviation Business Management
- Airworthiness Release on Widebody Aircraft
- Extensive knowledge of Foreign Carriers training and Ops Spec details
- Six Sigma/Lean Management
- Hub or Large Station Line experience
