Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Territory Sales Manager to join our team in Abeokuta, Ogun. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing distributor relationships, and ensuring optimal market coverage within the assigned territory. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a passion for achieving sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Distribution Setup:
    • Design and implement beat plans for distributors in consultation with the Regional Sales Manager to ensure comprehensive market coverage.
    • Establish and maintain the necessary infrastructure for distributors, including distribution units, warehouses, sales teams, and financial systems.
  • Sales Target Achievement:
    • Achieve primary and secondary sales targets set by the Sales Head for the assigned territory.
    • Break down territory sales targets into actionable goals for channels and beats.
  • Team Management:
    • Review the performance of the distributor’s sales team and implement training programs to enhance productivity and efficiency.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure the team meets and exceeds sales objectives.
  • Market Intelligence:
    • Monitor and report on competitor activities, including trade promotions, product launches, and consumer activations.
    • Provide timely updates to the Regional Sales Manager and Head of Sales to inform strategic decisions.
  • Distributor Management:
    • Track distributor performance and address issues promptly to ensure long-term efficiency.
    • Monitor and report on Return on Investment (ROI) for distributor operations.
  • Management Information System (MIS):
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date MIS for the territory.
    • Submit regular reports to the head office and Regional Sales Manager as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the FMCG sector.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in time management and organizational skills.
