Job Summary:
Yinson is seeking an experienced and dedicated HSEQ Manager to join our team in Port Harcourt, Rivers. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing HSSEQ processes to ensure compliance with regulations, industry best practices, and corporate standards. You will provide strategic guidance, lead risk management initiatives, and foster a culture of safety and environmental consciousness across all business units. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HSEQ management, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record in heavy industry or maritime operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assurance: Lead, advise, and mentor stakeholders to ensure ISO conformance through collaborative partnerships and comprehensive reporting.
  • Operations Projects: Provide specialized expertise to mitigate incidents and demonstrate strong leadership in operational projects.
  • Planning: Facilitate system reviews for vessels/locations to align with organizational objectives, vision, and mission.
  • Benchmarking: Implement HSSEQ success factors based on global industry benchmarks and improvement theories.
  • Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate delivery of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Core Business Processes: Develop and improve core business processes, including procedures, to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Contractor Management: Establish HSSEQ standards and procedures for contractor/vendor performance evaluation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive ongoing improvements through process development and implementation.
  • Competency & Capability: Cultivate the skills and abilities of the HSSEQ team, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Policies, Standards, Procedures: Ensure all HSSEQ documents are current, reviewed, and compliant.
  • Compliance: Evaluate HSSEQ performance data and provide solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Risk Management: Oversee the completion and auditing of risk registers, management systems, and risk assessments.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Develop communication and resolution procedures to exceed client expectations and build strong relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Essential:
    • 3-year full-time degree in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) or NVQ Level 6 in OSH.
    • Alternatively, a 3-year full-time degree with a 2-year graduate diploma in Health and Safety or NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
    • Chartered membership of IOSH is also acceptable.
  • Desirable:
    • TAE or Diploma qualification at Level 4 or higher (e.g., Training and Assessing, Training Assessment and Quality Assurance).
    • LEAD Auditor certification in ISO9001, 14001, 45001, 31001, and ISM.
    • Familiarity with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles.

Skills & Experience:

  • Essential:
    • 10+ years of relevant experience in heavy industry or maritime operations.
    • 5+ years of demonstrable experience in managing HSEQ operational functions.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience with global companies known for best practices.
    • Experience working in countries with stringent government regulatory requirements.
    • Proven success in implementing safety processes in multinational environments.
    • Experience in high-risk, high-consequence environments.
