Store Manager at a Leading Company in Nigeria

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Store Manager

Location: Lagos

Principal Accountabilities

  • Receive, inspect and accurately document incoming goods to the warehouse.
  • Properly store materials, supplies and goods, ensuring appropriate handling and storage practices.
  • Maintain and update accurate inventory records, including stock levels, movements and reconciliations.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory checks to verify accuracy and identify discrepancies or shortages.
  • Collaborate with other departments (finance, production and marketing) to understand inventory needs and ensure adequate supply.
  • Respond to requests and issues relating to inventory and provide excellent customer service.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in inventory management.
  • Train and supervise store staff and assistants, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor stock levels and initiate timely replenishment orders to prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
  • Ensure the warehouse is organized and clean, implementing effective space utilization techniques.
  • Adhere to inventory management procedures, such as first-in, first-out (FIFO) and monitor expiration dates.
  • Implement and enforce security measures to prevent theft, loss or damage to stock.

Qualification, Experience & Requirements

  • A graduate of Accounting / Business Administration or Management Science. 
  • Minimum of 3 years proven experience in a Manufacturing Company.
  • Proven experience in inventory management or warehouse operations.
  • Strong attention to details and organizational skills.
  • Ability to supervise and train Store personnel.
  • Knowledge of inventory control procedures and industry regulations.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office applications.
  • Experience in the usage of accounting software on store records. Ability to use Sage Software will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to provide weekly, monthly or periodic report to Management.
  • Ability to lead a team.

Inventory Control and Accuracy: 

  • Participate in regular audits and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy and integrity. 
  • Cooperate with Audit in implementing corrective actions to address inventory discrepancies and minimize errors. 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancement in inventory management. 
  • Assist in implementing best practices and standardized procedures to streamline inventory workflows. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address inventory-related challenges and optimize processes. 
  • Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures and standards to prevent stockouts and overstocks.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in inventory management software systems (e.g., ERP systems, inventory tracking software). 
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices. 
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems and procedures. 
  • Strong analytical skills for inventory analysis and forecasting. 

Soft Skills:

  • Demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, able to work under pressure and adapt to occasional overtime requirements.
  • Time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. 
  • Collaboration and teamwork abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams. 
  • Good Communication and team-working disposition.

Salary
N200,000 – N300,000 / month.
